"Life is a privilege, live it to the full. Always remember to love, laugh, sing and dance, and treasure the words that help carry you through."

Meet Ed Buckley

Poet, Storyteller and Photographer

In Ireland, a seanchaí (shan-a-key) was the keeper of stories, carrying folklore, history and family tales from one generation to the next. By the fireside, they wove truth and imagination into words that gave voice to a community.

While the traditional seanchaí has nearly vanished, the spirit of that role lives on in writers who give shape to memory and meaning. At 83, Edward Buckley brings the same humour, heart and rhythm of that tradition into his poetry. Each commission becomes more than words on a page. It is a story made to last, a keepsake to be cherished for generations.

How it works

"This isn't just a poem -it's a memory set to words, like a song that will outlive the moment."

EDWARD BUCKLEY.

"I was overjoyed to receive a poem from my fiancé, written by Ed, as part of his proposal. He captured our love so beautifully, and we keep it displayed where it always brings us joy and reminds us of that special moment."
